Thank you, Central Alberta, for standing up!
This campaign is now closed!
The united voice we have been growing together will help to build a better and safer community for all of us!
You started the united community voice that our municipal and provincial leaders need to help us get things done!
We are getting places:
Our municipal and provincial governments have been working collaboratively with the non-profits to ensure emergency health measures are in place both temporarily and permanently for our community.
Our community has:
A united voice of over 1800 people so far.
Increased funding from the Housing Ministry to open the Warming Shelter a month early.
City Council approved the development permit for same and allowed for overnight shelter overflow.
A temporary emergency overdose prevention site.
Added safety and security resources on overdose prevention site.
Increased needle debris clean up.
A collaborative team of experts working on a permanent site for Safe Consumption Services.
Increased medical teams on the front lines
A medically supported detox program.
Now what can we do with this united voice?
Our Mayor has asked for this very thing and it will strengthen her advocacy for the resources our community needs.
Our MLA’s and provincial and federal partners can use it for the same.
We can show support for any initiatives in our community working towards residential treatment facilities for addiction and mental health.
We can show all of those people who are lost in the world of addiction and mental health that we are standing beside them and determined to help.
We can use it to get public bathrooms for people.
We still need to have some “in the meantime” housing for people who do not currently fit mainstream resources due to their substance use. This can be used for people with no homes who are waiting to access addiction treatment and a place to return to after their treatment.
This united voice can let everyone know who are working on the front lines of this crisis that we appreciate them and we are behind them.
All of the families who are so horribly affected by the ravages of addiction can lend their powerful voice to help make a difference in the resources we can offer their loved ones.
Add your name to this united voice
- To show businesses that we are advocating to make a difference for them
- To show our community we are advocating to make it safer for all of us.
- To show families and friends of all of those suffering that we are advocating to make a difference.
- To thank all of those manning the front lines of this crisis, Non-profits, EMS, RCMP and RDRH.
Thank you to all supporters.
